had similar lack of sitters then at last minute grandparents offered to do a sitting for tribe allowing missus and sisters (plus us males) to go for a meal early doors and then let them get home by 11.00 so not really a new years eve but near enough i suppose?

Happy New year everyone!

As long as you are not drinking wine, you are mean when you wine :P

well, I was on last night, but by the time the system had downloaded the maps -first time on TF2  - everyone bar Mav had left, so he twatted me around and boosted his stats nicely :D there were a couple of others, but I didn't stay alive long enough to work out who had offed me :D

new to this, so had to find me way around the map, AND had to figure out which character is best to play as : any tips / hints gladly taken :P

I will be trying again soon, got to go to pub tonight :P, and as I have an MS exam on Friday - hoping to get the MCSA completed then, the W/E will see me back on with a vengeance, no clue :D, but plenty of vengeance ............

If your new to it, the best class to be is Pyro or engineer. Simply because whilst Pyro, you can just flame everywhere whilst you look around the map and get used to it, and engineer your just whacking a gun over and over (stats whores love it, dont they mif?). When i fist bought the game i couldnt play it cuz i hated how fast paced it was, but cant get enough of it now, bought some other games since TF2, and always find myself back to it.

Flaming a cloaked spy is the best...

Medic is another good one to start with as you spend most of your time following other players, so that is also good for learning the maps.

Select your medigun, find a pyro or heaviy, start healing and following, and watch your back, cos spies love taking medics from behind, especially Mayo.

Oh, Mayo defo likes taking things from behind alright! ;)

Yer thats some good advice there, pyro is probs the best, because all the others require cirtain tactics to play effectivly, (as does pyro, its just its easyer to play with no prior tf2 knowledge).

heavy works for me just walk around slowly with a f***ing big gun shooting everything that moves, the lack of ff makes tf2 easier in that respect

right then, medic it is
the only problem I foresee is that you say I have to follow a heavy ??
as I am of a rather rotund stature myself, can I just talk to myself :D

may be on later, depends on how much beer I can afford :P
but might start to go in when noone is there just to find my way around
might as well get the noob effect over and done with ASAP :D
mind you, noob effect still going feckin strong in CSS
